Using Automatic Tare is a great way to speed up your measuring process. Taring a scale involves resetting the scale's weight to zero with an empty bowl placed on top. This captures the true weight of each product, ensuring an accurate final measurement.
To begin, we'll need to set your tare preference. Open the app and tap on the Account tab located in the lower right corner of the screen. Next, select General Settings. Ensure the Bluetooth Scale toggle and the Automatic Tare option are turned on.
After choosing the products for your formula, tap "Start Measuring" to bring up the measurement page. Now, place your bowl on the scale and turn it on. This way, your bowl is automatically tared. If you turned on your scale before placing your colour bowl on, tap "Tare" or the SalonScale icon on the scale to zero out your scale. We want the bowl to be on your scale, with the display showing 0 and the first colour product showing 0.
With the scale turned on, wait for the first product to be highlighted in light purple. This indicates that the scale and the app have been paired and are ready for use.
Start by measuring your first product. After reaching your desired weight, tap on the next product on the app only. There is no need to press any buttons on the scale at this time.
You will now measure your next product. Note that the scale still shows the first product's weight on the display, but the app shows the next product as 0. This is the magic of automatic tare! The scale displays the total bowl's weight, while the app breaks it down by how much of each product was measured.
This is an example of what the scale display would show:
If using an Acaia Pearl scale, by default, the scale will zero or tare each time you press a new product, so it will not display the bowl's total weight.
