Creating a Session and Sending it to Square

Now that your Square account is connected to SalonScale, follow this step-by-step guide to create a session and send your total directly to your Square POS software.

If you have not yet connected your Square and SalonScale accounts, please complete the integration setup before following How To Connect Square and Your SalonScale Account.

Step 1: Square Appointment

  1. In your Square account, have the appointment created for your client as you normally would.

Step 2: Create a Session in SalonScale

  1. In the SalonScale app, select Add Session from Square.

  2. If you have multiple stylists connected to your account, use stylist select to choose the appropriate stylist for the service.

You will then see the Square appointments displayed in SalonScale. Select the session you would like to create.

Step 3: Start Your SalonScale Session

  1. You can either start a new session or duplicate a previous session from your client’s formula history.

  2. Mix and weigh your color in SalonScale as you normally would throughout the service.

Step 4: Complete and Send the Session to Square

  1. Once you are finished with the session, select Complete Session.

  2. A pop-up message will appear asking if you would like to complete the session and send it to Square. Select Okay to continue.

Step 5: Add SalonScale as a Service Charge in Square

  1. When you open the appointment in Square, you will see the formulas and color costs automatically added into the client notes.

  2. You can then add the SalonScale total as a service charge within the Square appointment before checking out your client.

Important Notes

  • If you have not yet connected your Square and SalonScale accounts, please complete the integration setup before following these steps.

  • Make sure appointments are created in Square before attempting to create them in SalonScale.
