How To Use Color Tab

The Color Tab makes it easy to track and invoice color usage per stylist. Set markups for color used and generate invoices automatically.

Step 1: Log in to Your SalonScale Account

  1. Open a web browser and go to SalonScale Login.

  2. Enter your email and password, then click Log In.

Step 2: Set Up Color Tab For Each Stylist

  1. Select the Team page, from the left side menu

  2. Click Edit next to the stylist you want to assign a color tab to.

  3. Toggle the Color Tab setting to on.

  4. Set a markup percentage (e.g., 25%) if you want to charge extra for providing the color.

    1. Set to 0% if you only want to cover the wholesale cost.

  5. Click Save to apply the settings.

  6. Repeat for each stylist you want to assign a color tab to.

Step 3: View Color Tabs

  1. From the left-side menu, select Back Bar.

  2. Navigate to the Color Tab menu.

  3. Select the Tabs section.

In the Tabs view, you can:

  • Filter results by date range.

  • Review wholesale costs, markup amounts, and total tab charges.

  • "View All" to see all the services included in the selected range.

  • Export the data for reporting, payroll, or record-keeping purposes.

Step 4: View and Generate Stylist Invoices

  1. Within the Color Tab menu, select the Invoices section.

  2. Filter invoices by date range to view the charges owed by each stylist.

  3. Locate the stylist you wish to invoice and click View beside their name.

You can then export the invoice as a PDF and to send to the stylist for payment or record-keeping purposes.
