How to use Open Day Session View

Discover how to bulk add your clients to your daily sessions for you and your team.

Updated over 4 months ago

Open Day has a familiar view, similar to your appointment book or scheduler in your booking software. It can be useful to quickly add multiple clients to your stylist's schedule, saving them the trouble of looking up clients and potentially creating duplicate entries if they forget how to spell a client's last name. To begin, let's start from the Business Center on the website. After logging in, tap on Sessions from the left-hand side menu.

The names of your team members will be displayed in columns with the date shown above. You can use the small arrow -> to scroll to the side and view more stylists. After that, we will proceed to add clients to the stylist's schedule for the day.

Tap on the "New Session" to bring up our new session view.

Select the date and the stylist, then click on "Add Clients" to bring up a new menu where you can add clients to the stylist's day.

Tap on the clients you wish to add, then tap on the purple button to show you the number of clients being added. In this example, we add three clients to our stylist's day.

The next screen confirms the clients you want to add to your day.

If you have a new client, click on "Create Client"; otherwise, click on the "Create 3 Sessions" button at the bottom of the page.

You will now see these clients listed on the stylist's daily sessions.

You can filter this to show you Stylists with Open or Completed sessions.

You can display all stylists or only those with sessions scheduled for the day.

Finally, you can sort by date.

FAQ

Can I add all the clients for the week at once?

Currently, we would like to suggest that you refrain from adding future sessions. These sessions will automatically complete, showing as $0 sessions at the end of the current day you entered them. Automatic session completion is a feature that ensures that your products are deducted from inventory accurately, as the products of open sessions have not been accounted for until you mark them as completed.

We also suggest that if a client No-Shows or cancels, you delete the session from the stylist's schedule to avoid having a $0 session saved at the end of the day.

I preferred the list view. How can I switch back to the original format?

Click on the List image next to the "New Session" button, and you will see the traditional Session view you are used to.
