We've rebuilt SalonScale from the ground up, with a new design, a faster experience, and improvements that make tracking your color costs easier behind the chair.
The new SalonScale is here, and we're rolling it out in phases, starting with new customers.
If you're already using SalonScale Classic (the SalonScale app you use today), here's what that means for you.
The short version
The new SalonScale is here. Same gram-by-gram method, completely new experience.
Existing customers will move over in phases. We'll reach out before it's your turn.
Your data comes with you. Your formulas and session history are stored in your SalonScale account, so they'll be there when you move.
Your pricing stays the same. There are no pricing changes with the new SalonScale.
No action needed. Keep using SalonScale Classic as usual.
SalonScale Classic stays supported. Nothing changes for you right now.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's different about the new SalonScale?
It's the same SalonScale you know, rebuilt from the ground up to make tracking your color costs faster and easier.
Here's what's new:
A completely new design: A cleaner, faster, easier experience behind the chair.
Live measuring indicator: See exactly how much you're measuring as you pour, so you know when you've hit your formula.
Color book folders: Keep your formulas organized by hair color, like blondes, brunettes and redheads, so the formula you need is always a tap away.
Advanced Bluetooth scale connectivity: The SalonScale Precision Scale and Acaia scales pair quickly over Bluetooth and stay connected while you mix.
The way you track your color costs isn't changing. We're just making the experience better.
Do I need to do anything right now?
No. Keep using SalonScale Classic exactly as you do today. Continue weighing your color, saving formulas, and tracking your sessions. There's nothing you need to change or set up right now. We'll walk you through the move when it's your turn.
When will I get access to the new app?
We're rolling it out in phases, starting with new customers.
We don't have a date to share for your account yet, but we'll reach out directly before it's your turn, with everything you need to know.
How will I know when it's my turn to switch?
We'll reach out directly before your account moves. Keep an eye on your email. We'll share everything you need to know before your move.
Why are new customers getting the new app first?
Moving an existing account, with all your formulas and history, takes more care than starting a new one. Launching with new accounts first lets us prove everything works before we move you, so your switch is smooth. You've been part of this plan from the start, and your experience matters just as much to us.
Can I download the new app now?
Please hold off for now. In this first phase, the new app is built for new salons, and some features you may use aren't in it yet. Keep using SalonScale Classic, and we'll reach out when it's time for your move.
Will the new app have everything I use in SalonScale Classic?
The features you rely on will be there when you move. A few things work a little differently in the new app, and some smaller features are still being reviewed. Keep using SalonScale Classic as you do today. We'll share exactly what to expect before your move.
What happens to my formulas and session history?
They come with you. Your formulas and session history are stored in your SalonScale account, not just on your device, so they'll be there in the new app when it's your time to move.
I use a SalonScale Original or Mini scale. Will it work with the new app?
No. The new app works with the SalonScale Precision Scale and Acaia scales.
You'll need to switch to one of these before you move over. Or you can use manual weigh: weigh the bowl on your own scale and enter the amount in the app. We'll help you plan for it before your phase.
Until then, your current scale keeps working with SalonScale Classic.
Is SalonScale Classic going away?
Not now. SalonScale Classic stays live in the App Store and Google Play and fully supported until you've moved over.
Why does SalonScale Classic's listing look different?
We updated it so new salons find the new app. SalonScale Classic is still live, still supported, and still the one you should use until we've contacted you.
I'm adding a new stylist to my salon. Which app should they use?
SalonScale Classic, same as the rest of your team. This keeps everyone on one system until your salon moves together.
Will my subscription pricing change?
No. There are no pricing changes with the new SalonScale.
Have more questions?
Our team is here to help. Reach out to [email protected] if you have questions about the new experience or what it means for your account.
For now, keep using SalonScale Classic as usual. We'll let you know when it's time to make the switch.
